STOP PRESS - Cheltenham Bird Club led a Dawn Chorus meeting on April 25th on behalf of the Cleeve Common Conservators. Although this meant a very early start lots of members of the public attended, the weather was reasonably good and the birds sang as well as ever. The main members of the chorus were blackbird, song thrush, blackcap, wren and willow warbler along with others. For many it was a first chance to hear a Grasshopper Warbler and, as in previous years, we were amazed that the first songbird of the morning was a flying and singing (in pitch dark) Skylark. A great morning.
